Metal Roofing Sealant
An overseas manufacturer of adhesives and sealants needed to replace a polychloroprene metal roofing sealant with something better — and outperform their chief competitor. Marsh Laboratories developed a sealant with better adhesion, lower shrinkage, higher flexibility, and vastly better UV weathering resistance. The company gained significant market share, which they hold to this day.
Aluminum-to-Steel Irrigation Adhesive
An irrigation supplies distributor sold an adhesive for bonding aluminum to steel irrigation connections. Their longtime supplier discontinued it — a low-volume item that no longer made economic sense for a large public company to produce. Marsh Laboratories formulated an exact duplicate. The distributor continues to sell the product, which comprises significant sales for them.
Commercial Construction Sealants
A roofing membrane company needed a contract packager for their seam sealant in caulking cartridges. A manufacturer of solvent systems for the plumbing industry needed a sealant packaged under their name for commercial fire-stop systems. A Fortune 500 company needed a packager for its new line of acoustical sealants. In each case, a make/buy analysis showed contracting out made far more economic sense than investing in in-house packaging equipment. Marsh Laboratories continues to provide these services for these and many other companies.
Specific-Use Paper Adhesives
A paper distributor needed adhesives to solve problems in producing corrugated pallets, windshield shipping partitions, and laminated stock for industrial applications. Marsh Laboratories adapted stock formulas to their needs: economical, fast-setting, and reliable. Every adhesive is made from renewable sources, is compatible with the paper recycling process, and is priced in the pennies-per-pound range — letting them compete very effectively.
